Cybersecurity: UTM Firewall & VPN for SMEs

This training explains the role of a UTM firewall in an SME's architecture. Participants map the network, identify the WAN, LAN, DMZ and guest Wi-Fi zones, then size the equipment according to throughput, number of users and active services.
Commissioning includes configuring interfaces, basic rules, NAT and inter-zone filtering. Additional VLANs or zones are created to segment usage and control access.
Hands-on practice covers a site-to-site VPN between two simulated sites, a remote-access VPN, configuration backup and common incident management. The equipment mentioned includes a router, a firewall, a Layer 3 switch and a pfSense server.
