Overview
This training is dedicated to laptop hardware maintenance. Participants disassemble and reassemble several models while taking care with screws, ribbon cables and plastic parts, then identify the main subassemblies.
The exercises cover power and charging circuits, power-on, battery and unstable-operation faults. They also cover replacing DC jacks, keyboards, ribbon cables, fans, drives, RAM modules, screens and display-related components.
The diagnostic approach includes testing with an external monitor, checking power rails, short-circuit tracing, BIOS reset and handling overheating. A summary workshop confronts participants with several real or simulated faults, through to writing the service report.
Objectives
Cleanly disassemble and reassemble different laptop models.
Diagnose the main faults: no power-on or charging, black screen, overheating, non-functioning keyboard or touchpad.
Test and troubleshoot power and charging circuits.
Replace common mechanical and electronic components.
Perform first-level motherboard diagnostics by measuring rails, tracing short circuits and resetting the BIOS.
Who should attend
PC maintenance technicians wishing to move toward laptop repair.
Prerequisites
Have good practices in PC maintenance, with the MPC training recommended, and a basic knowledge of electronics, with the ELEC training recommended.
